Description

Number of Learners in Class: 3 - 12
Length of Class: 45 minutes
Type of Class: 1 class per week for 10 weeks (10 classes total)

This course is for beginners with no prior knowledge of the Korean language. The learners will develop essential skills and knowledge in the writing system, sentence structure, and conversational fundamentals.

Through this beginner’s course, learners will learn the Korean alphabet system to help them start reading the language, which will ultimately help them develop their skills much quicker. They will learn the language's sentence structure while understanding the critical differences between Korean and English. Learners will be working on forming basic sentences using verbs, basic grammar, and honorific language. 

This is an interactive course in which the learners will be encouraged to listen and repeat in class or even try to speak themselves to practice their pronunciation and understanding of the language. The course will consist of various instructional materials delivered through multiple approaches, such as direct lectures with PowerPoint presentations, interactive conversations to work on vocabulary and pronunciation, and independent worksheets to practice writing Korean.

Hello everyone, I'm currently a University student who loves teaching, and I have been teaching Korean for over three years through in-school peer tutoring and online tutoring. I have taken the International Language Credit for Korean throughout high school and received certificates of excellence through winning several contests at the Korean Education Centre, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto.
