Description

In this fun and interactive class, young chefs will learn how to make a classic, healthy snack—Ants on Logs! We'll explore the basics of preparing this simple dish, using celery sticks as "logs" and spreading them with creamy peanut butter or a peanut-free alternative. Then, we'll top our logs with "ants" made of raisins or other dried fruit. This class is perfect for little ones who are just starting to explore the kitchen, helping them develop fine motor skills and confidence in food preparation.

Supply List:

  • Celery sticks (or other preferred veggies or fruit to act as "logs"
  • Peanut butter (or peanut-free alternative like sunflower seed butter), or cream cheese, or cheese spread.
  • Raisins or other dried fruit (such as cranberries, blueberries, or chopped dried apricots)
  • Plastic or butter knife for spreading
  • Plate or cutting board

Note to adults: Adults are responsible for keeping children in their care safe. While adults are not permitted to be on camera and participate in class actively, adults are always welcome to be nearby to support learners. During Kids Cook classes, it's requested that parents stay with young learners to help them and ensure their safety. Additionally, adults should ensure that all food choices and portion sizes are appropriate for the child's age and that any items used in the recipe are not potential choking hazards.
