Description

This class combines fun with learning by creating an interactive project introducing basic physics and engineering principles. Our young scientists will build their very own Popsicle stick Catapults using simple materials while exploring concepts like force, energy, and motion.

Class Project Overview:

Popsicle Catapults is a perfect blend of science and play! This engaging project will captivate your child’s imagination and encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Using everyday supplies, each student will construct a functioning catapult that can launch lightweight items. It's a fantastic way for them to see physics in action!

Supplies Needed:

  • 10 Jumbo Popsicle Sticks:
  • Rubber Bands
  • Firing Power: Items like marshmallows, pompoms, or pencil top erasers will be projectiles for our catapults. These are safe, lightweight, and perfect for indoor use.
  •
  • Bottle Cap: This will be used as the holder for our firing power, attached at the launching end of the catapult.
  • Sticky Dots or Hot Glue Gun: To ensure our catapults are sturdy and the pieces stay in place, we'll use sticky dots or a hot glue gun for a more durable hold.
