Number of Learners in Class: 1 - 6
Length of Class: 25 minutes
Calling all nature lovers, adventurers, and explorers! Does your young learner enjoy playing in the woods and climbing trees? Are they always finding interesting rocks, making things out of sticks, or finding treasures to bring home? Then this class is for them. Learners are invited to bring what they have found in the great outdoors to class so they can tell us all about it!
Class Structure:
Introductions/Greetings.
Show and tell – time to share our special natural items.
Discussion: discuss the show and tell items, compare and contrast etc.
Educator facilitated discussion: What does nature look like around you? Give learners an introduction to various plants and animals through visuals designed to both introduce learners to natural items they may not have seen before but also so inspire curiosity in the natural world around them.
Note: Show and tell natural objects can be anything they have found outside, for instance, in their back garden, park or beach and can be anything from an interesting leaf, rock or stick to even a photo or a drawing of a natural environment they have visited recently.
